Expert Determination from the Expert's Perspective

This event will be presented by Robert Holt QC, Barrister. 
This presentation will address practical matters pertaining to expert determination in complex construction disputes.  These include the preparation and presentation of lay and expert evidence and the approach to be adopted with respect to submissions on law and fact.  The application of the rules of natural justice having regard to standard rules for expert determination will be discussed.  Finally a suggested approach to directions governing the procedure will be discussed.
Robert (Bob) Holt QC, Barrister, Queensland Bar has worked as a lawyer in the field of construction law for many years and has specialized in construction litigation.  He has acted in court proceedings and arbitrations in respect of complex litigation relating to buildings, mining infrastructure contracts and civil, electrical and hydraulic engineering disputes.  Bob has acted as an arbitrator, mediator and expert and has prepared many expert determinations in complex building disputes.  He is a Chartered Arbitrator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and a Grade 1 Arbitrator with the Resolution Institute.
