The Young Constructors Committee (YCC) is dedicated to engaging and supporting early-career professionals. Primarily focused on students and those in the early stages of their professional journey, the YCC also opens select events and activities to all SoCLA members.
Among its flagship initiatives, the YCC runs a national, industry-wide mentoring program that has connected mentors and mentees across SoCLA's membership since its establishment in 2015. What began as a modest offering has grown into a cornerstone of the Society's commitment to professional development.
The YCC is also the home of the Charrett Moot — a national mooting competition established in 2015 and named in honour of former SoCLA Director Dr Donald Charrett. Now a highlight of the SoCLA calendar, the competition culminates in a Grand Final held at the SoCLA National Conference, with a dedicated Moot Committee drawing representatives from each jurisdiction.
The YCC is managed by the YCC Subcommittee.
