The energy transition continues to reshape the construction and infrastructure landscape. Western Australia, for example, is pressing ahead with plans to significantly increase the renewable energy target for the South West Interconnected System by 2030-2031 alongside an ongoing phase-out of conventional coal-fired power. While these projects involve features that are familiar to most major design and construction packages, they often give rise to their own unique challenges and risk profiles.

Join us for a practical discussion where we will explore the risks that set new energy projects apart. Our experienced panel will touch on topics such as:

  • current and emerging trends in new energy disputes;
  • examining risks that are unique to or more common on new energy projects;
  • changes to government policy and geopolitical shifts, and their effect on new energy projects;
  • emerging JV issues as regulatory approaches and compliance obligations diverge across jurisdictions; and
  • how those risks are allocated and managed at the front end.
