With every Australian government setting ambitious targets to transition their energy sector to support a low emissions economy, speed is critical in getting new renewable energy projects from a concept to fully operational. We know that we need to pick up the pace across the different phases of project development, from planning and approvals through to commissioning to meet these targets. Making sure that the construction phase of the project runs smoothly to enable on time completion is a significant piece of the puzzle. This discussion will focus on the past, present and future of renewable energy construction, the risks and issues being faced in this phase of projects, and the practical solutions that could be put in place to mitigate risks and issues.
